Vi Coffin Memorial Debate

The Vi Coffin Memorial Debate was a rousing success, with a packed house and 4 of the 5 Democratic candidates for Governor in attendance.

The Burlington Free Press coverage kicks off with a note about the candidates' impressive ability to differentiate their stances while remaining civil with one another, keeping their focus where it belongs - the defeat of Brian Dubie:

"Their campaigns in the homestretch, four Democrats running for governor went head-to-head in a debate Wednesday, touting their plans for improving the economy, extending broadband and cell phone service throughout the state, and addressing health care reform at the state level.

As in previous debates, Matt Dunne, Deb Markowitz, Doug Racine and Peter Shumlin sought to woo voters without attacking one another, instead saving their best shots for presumptive Republican nominee Brian Dubie, who has no primary challenger in Tuesday’s election."
